Givers at WFUV

With roots in the Zydeco dance halls of Louisiana, rhythm has always been a centerpiece of the ebullient, indie-pop band, Givers. So has exploration and improvisation. And as we learned on their recent visit to Studio A, that interplay of organic and familiar, and the unexpected, inspired a whole new direction for their second album, New Kingdom. After a busy four years between albums, with incessant touring, and playing the festival circuit, Givers did quite a bit of soul searching to find their way to this new batch of songs.

Tonight on FUV Live, you’ll hear Tiffany and Taylor share a bit of that journey with us, and the creative freedom they found by not retreading old territory, but building on it.
