Governor Cuomo Announces $18 Million to Fight MS-13

Governor Cuomo says locking up young people is not the solution to MS-13's grip on Long Island. He hopes to cut off its recruitment by investing 16 million dollars in educational and employment opportunities. An additional 2 and a half million dollars will go towards aiding local law enforcement and community based organizations. Governor Cuomo says providing young people with the tools to stay away from gang violence is more effective than incarceration. Cuomo says many immigrants from Central America are vulnerable to the gang's recruitment and violence.
