Karyn Oliver was a mainstay of the Baltimore-Washington music scenes for many years before getting involved with Chicks With Dip, the New York songwriting circle/support group, as well as the band, No Fuss and Feathers. Now she’s moved with her husband to North Carolina and, true to form, she’s made herself at home there.

Oliver enlisted local musicians Jon Shain and F.J. Ventre to produce and mix her new album, A List of Names, a collection of songs from a woman’s perspective. As with her past projects, it encourages both empowerment and empathy. In advance of Oliver’s appearance at the Tuesday, July 9 "On Your Radar" at Rockwood Music Hall, I invited her to WFUV for a Sunday Supper studio session.
