LGBTQ Coalition Will "March," Not "Parade"

Next month is pride month, but some members of the LGBTQ community in New York will be skipping the annual parade.

The Reclaim Pride Coalition is hosting its own march on the same day of the annual pride parade without any corporate or police presence.

Coalition member Anne Northrop has been participating in Pride in New York City since the late 70s, but has stopped going in recent years. She says Pride has beome a bloated corporate party.

The Reclaim Pride Coalition's Queer Liberation March and Rally takes place on June 30th at 9:30am before the nearly 9 hour Pride Parade sets out.
