Matt Lowell, Crisanta Baker and Sam Stewart have been making music together in L.A. for the past few years. As Lo Moon, they unleashed their knockout single "Loveless" last fall and they've had our attention ever since.

Along with NPR Music, WFUV named Lo Moon a Slingshot artist — an honor championing some of the bands that we're most enthusiastic about. In addition, FUV invited the trio to visit Studio A and to appear at the Beacon Theatre on December 15 for our Holiday Cheer for FUV benefit show, along with Randy Newman, Jeff Tweedy and Aimee Mann.

While anticipation for Lo Moon's debut album continues to build, the band returned to New York City for its first-ever headlining show this fall (and to do some record shopping with me). The sold-out crowd at Rough Trade NYC was treated to some of the songs that we've heard so far, like "Loveless," "This Is It" and "Thorns" — a preview of what's to come in 2018.
