New York City chain restaurants are facing a new mandate from lawmakers: they’re now required to put a salt warning on some of their menu items, and if they don’t comply, they face a fine. The rule is the first of its kind, and would require restaurants to place a saltshaker icon on menu items that top the recommended daily limit of 2,300 milligrams of sodium.
