Morning Brief: November 5

That dream you had as a child of becoming an astronaut and going to space may come true. If you're really smart and have perfect eyesight that is. NASA issued an open hiring call yesterday for new space explorers, so now is the perfect time to try and send in your resume. The space program's been grounded since 2011, so the number of astronauts the agency's got around is pretty low. Those who get accepted could fly in the International Space Station, a commercial space craft, or even the Orion deep-space exploration mission, which could travel to Mars. If you happen to have a degree in engineering, biological sciences, physical sciences or mathematics, a graduate degree and several years of related professional experience and want to learn more, there will be a live interview session today from 2-3:30 p.m.
