Born in the same Duluth hotel as a certain recent Nobel laureate, Rachael Kilgour is still Minnesota-based, but gaining a national reputation. Grand Prize winner the 2015 NewSong Music Contest, she is about to release her third album, Rabbit in the Road, produced by Catie Curtis, Crit Harmon, and Gar Ragland.

Rabbit in the Road is a deeply personal album, channeling her grief over the dissolution of her marriage. Rachel shares her heartbreak and recovery, sometimes with a laugh, in conversation and songs sung in an aching, vulnerable voice that might remind you of Iris DeMent.

She'll be part of On Your Radar at Rockwood Music Hall on November 15th, along with the 2014 NewSong winners, Max Hatt/Edda Glass, and a San Francisco area duo, Sugar Ponies. This session is a good way to get acquainted with a rising talent.
