Raising Awareness About a NY Constitutional Convention
A new campaign aims to raise public awareness about a statewide referendum on whether to hold a constitutional convention.
New York voters aren't due to vote on whether to hold a constitutional convention until 2017. But a coalition of civic-minded groups wants to inform the public about the issues related to a convention that would consider changes to New York's constitution.
The group will not take a position on whether people should vote "yes" or "no" on the ballot proposition in two years.
The group includes the Rockefeller Institute of Government, the Government Law Center at Albany Law School, the League of Woman Voters of New York State, the Center for Research, Regional Education & Outreach and the Siena Research Institute.
