Bio

The New York Times has described Raul Midon as "a one-man band who who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus." Unsighted since infancy, he nonetheless has a clear vision of the world, which he has consistently expressed in songs that appeal to our better selves.

On his latest album, Badass and Blind, he enlisted the help of renowned jazz musicians such as Gerald Clayton and Nicholas Payton. On this return visit to WFUV, it was enough to have Raul and his trusty guitar, as he talked eloquently about some of his musical heroes, including Sting and Al Jarreau, and performed a couple of songs from the album.
