The four young sisters of SHEL grew up in rural Colorado, where they were homeschooled. Other than playing with their neighbors, they pretty much had to entertain themselves, which included making music together.

Eventually they put their their classical music lessons to use in forming a group they called SHEL, an acronym of the first initials of their names: Sarah, Hannah, Eva, and Liza. Their music has evolved into a diverse form of indie pop.

Their second album, Just Crazy Enough, was co-produced by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics fame, who encouraged their musical growth and confidence to be "weirdos." The girls say they're "traveling the world, tellin' tales and sharing the dream."

And having a lot of fun, as you'll hear in this session.
