Hear an FUV Live session with The Strypes tonight at 9.

The Strypes are a terrific new band from Ireland that are playing adrenalized rock ‘n’ roll.  It’s fast, it’s tough, it’s smart and it’s fun.  I’m hearing echoes of early Stones and Yardbirds mixed with the speed of punk and the hooks of power pop.  Their debut album Snapshot is just that - a musical mix of ten originals and three cover songs that serve up an instant impression of what they do.

But it’s their live performance that really makes them stand out and exciting to watch.  They’ve got all the right moves combined with strong musicianship that seem to defy their age and life experience. Their average age is 17 and they look it.  It also doesn’t hurt that they were signed to Elton John’s Rocket Management and Chris Difford (of Squeeze) is  very much involved as a mentor.

I really enjoyed watching them perform in their FUV Studio A session and spending time talking with them on a variety of subjects. Take a look and take a listen below.
