At age 77, Tom Rush's skills as a singer, guitarist, and raconteur are undiminished. One area where he is sometimes underrated is as a songwriter. While he's written memorable songs like "No Regrets," he's perhaps better known as the man who introduced us to artists such as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and Jackson Browne. He's back now with his first album ever of all original songs (plus two traditional tunes), Voices, due at the end of April 2018 on Appleseed Records.

Rush returned to WFUV, accompanied by the estimable Matt Nakoa on piano, to perform a couple of songs from the album, plus a classic blues number, and bring us up to date on his life these days. He still maintains a healthy touring schedule, which will bring him to the Rubin Museum of Art on Friday, April 13.
