Wisconsin troubadour Trapper Schoepp has a lot to crow about as 2019 unfolds. His new album Primetime Illusion, produced by Wilco’s Patrick Sansone, will be out January 25 on Xtra Mile Recordings. The album features “On, Wisconsin” — a song Bob Dylan started in 1961. Schoepp recently finished it and they're publishing it together!

Schoepp stopped by Studio A to play that song and tell the incredible backstory. In between, you'll get to know the soulful young man who can wax poetic about the nature and wide open spaces of his heartland home, and also crack wise about "cheese-heads" with characteristically dry Midwest humor. His brother Tanner (these boys do have frontier-friendly names) joins him to perform too.
