Fans got to accompany the team in the celebratory parade

Fans got the chance to celebrate the US women's national team's world cup victory in the New York City's Canyon of Heroes this morning.  Jubilant fans chanted in celebration of the fourth star that will be added to their jersey. The star represents their record breaking fourth world cup win. For some fans the parade was not just about the victory on the field it was also about celebrating a group of powerful women in sports.  A group of high school teammates from Connecticut including Olivia Manascalgo said they were there to celebrate their heroes. "They're so inspirational and they're showing us that we don't have to sit down and be quiet we can fight for what we want and we've proved it's no longer a question of are we worthy of getting more pay it's now that they have to take action on how they're going to get to that space." Chants of both USA and Equal Pay also filled the air along with ticker tape as the parade made it's way through downtown Manhattan.
