The Minneapolis-based musician Jeremy Nutzman, a.k.a. Velvet Negroni, is our guest in Studio A, and as his name implies, his music is smooth with a late-night vibe.

He stitches together myriad sounds that seem like they wouldn’t work well together, but they really do. There’s healthy servings of soul, synths, and lots of thick beats.

Nutzman's debut album, Neon Brown, is out now, and he stopped by FUV to talk about and play two songs from the new record — "Confetti" and "Kurt Kobain" — the latter of which is deliberately spelled that way and definitely not what you are expecting.
