Yemeni Businesses Protest Trump's Travel Ban

Hundreds of Yemeni-owned businesses throughout New York City are closing their doors during their busiest hours. They're shutting down because owners and workers are rallying in Brooklyn tonight against one of President Trump's executive orders.

Adnan Alshabbi closed the doors to his Washington Heights bodega, Golden Deli, for the first time in 25 years. He and some of his employees came to America from Yemen, one of the seven majority-Muslim countries included in the president's travel ban. Alshabbi says he's willing to suffer financial losses to stand in solidarity with those affected by the restrictions.

"It's not just about money-- you could lose all your freedom. If we lost our freedom, it would be the worst thing," Alshabbi said in front of his closed deli.

One of Alshabbi's long-time customers, Ruben Martinez, says he fully supports the protest.
