FUV Live

Twin Shadow - FUV Live - 2015

Eclipse, the new album from Twin Shadow, is one of my favorite releases of the year so far and it was WFUV's New Dig last month.

The man behind Twin Shadow is George Lewis, Jr., an artist with a keen sense of melody and an ambitious vision for his music.  He has spent the last several years on the indie scene in Brooklyn, but a recent move to L.A. brings his major label debut Eclipse.  All of these songs are big and anthemic and instantly likeable.

The 2014 WFUV Feastival

It's been a big year of live music on FUV, with our first-ever live coverage of the Clearwater Festival and a return to Celebrate Brooklyn for three exclusive broadcasts. Add those festivals to an already long list of FUV Live events, including SXSW, Newport Folk Festival, CMJ and shows at venues around New York City, and it's no wonder our WFUV Feastival tradition can't be contained to just Thanksgiving Day.

Public Service Broadcasting - FUV Live - 2014

London-based Public Service Broadcasting is a bespectacled electronic duo who call themselves J. Willgoose Esq. and Wrigglesworth. Utilizing clips borrowed from archival propaganda movies, newsreels and educational films found in the British Film Institute and elsewhere, Public Service Broadcasting makes humorous, uplifting and resonant music that is mostly instrumental with spoken samples serving as vocals. Songs have a historic flourish, ranging from World War II ("Spitfire") to mountain expeditions ("Everest") to the advent of color televIsion ("ROYGBIV").
