Laura Veirs: 2018

When FUV last connected with Laura Veirs, it was back in 2016 when she was one third of the group case/lang/veirs, her collaboration with Neko Case and k.d. lang. 

Veirs, a Portland, Oregon singer and songwriter who has been putting out albums since 1999, has just returned with her first solo album in five years and her tenth overall, called The Lookout. A true multi-hyphenate, Veirs has just launched her own podcast too, and will soon add children’s book author to her résumé.

In this fascinating FUV Live session with Veirs, she played new songs off of The Lookout, and chatted about her recent burst of creativity, the balance of work and family, and her partnership with her longtime producer and husband, Tucker Martine.
