One of my favorite songs of the year comes from the Los Angeles-based musician, Pachyman. I just can't get enough of “Trago Coqueto” from Pachy Garcia’s new album, Switched On.

The whole album is a real vibe too. The dub and reggae sounds on the album put you in a relaxed and happy mood. During this FUV Live session, Pachy explained how he developed his voice and style, and also his influences, from King Tubby to Can. He also talked about being homesick for Puerto Rico and how he integrated that feeling into his music.

He showed up to WFUV’s Studio A solo with a ton of vintage equipment that he expertly assembled and used. Check out the brilliant live performances and interview and check out an FUV Q&A that Pachy did earlier this year.
