Live music and conversation has been FUV's theme throughout this long Thanksgiving weekend, and tonight on UKNY at 11, an FUV Live session with Michael Kiwanuka. Michael's third album, Kiwanuka, is one of the very best albums of 2019 (it reigns on FUV's forthcoming list of staff picks of favorite releases of the year), and when he was in New York for a show at Brooklyn Steel earlier this autumn, he returned to FUV too. Michael discussed the circuitous journey of self-discovery and renewed confidence that led him to its evolution — not always an easy road.

Also, new releases from Sunderland's Field Music, London trio Girl Ray, and Another Sky, a south London quartet with a fondness for Talk Talk's Laughing Stock and a gig this week in New York, on December 3 at Baby's All Right.

That's UKNY, Sundays from 11 p.m. to midnight on 90.7, also streaming online and available in the Weekend Archives.

Songs played:

1. Field Music, “Money is a Memory,” Making of a New World
2. Tokyo Tea Room, “Designer,” Dream Room EP
