London's the Big Moon has had a remarkable year. Their debut album, Love in the Fourth Dimension, was shortlisted for the 2017 Mercury Prize, much to the quartet's surprise. Even though the Big Moon lost to a fellow Londoner, Sampha, their fast ascent and ferocious rock chops has led to high-profile festival slots at Glastonbury and Reading. This summer they made a memorable cross-country trek through the States with their friend and frequent collaborator, Marika Hackman.

In fact, it was that summertime jaunt in a van that led the Big Moon, acting as both co-headliners and Hackman's backing band, to FUV's Studio A for a conversation and a session with Hackman, prior to September's Mercury Prize awards show.

I had the chance to talk to singer and guitarist Juliette Jackson, guitarist Soph Nathan, bassist Celia Archer and drummer Fern Ford (along with Hackman) about their nomination and what lies ahead for the group, one of Britain's most promising young guitar bands.
