Very few bands can claim a nearly four decade run and even fewer can continue to draw arena-sized crowds. Depeche Mode does and it's even more impressive that the band is now making some of the best music of its career.

The original lineup of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, and Andy Fletcher has outlived most of the synth-pop bands of the Eighties. They recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the landmark Depeche Mode album, Violator, and were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They are now back with a fantastic fourteenth studio effort, called Spirit.

I had a chance to sit down with frontman Dave Gahan to chat with him about the new album and what keeps him excited about writing and touring for such a long time.
