Denver-based DeVotchKa has been described as a blend of folk, polka, mariachi and much more, but that all falls a bit short of the mark. A gift for writing of romantic songs in grand, sweeping, emotional gestures is also part of their distinct sound on the new album 100 Lovers, and I got more of the story during the band's visit to Studio A.
