Over the past sixteen years, Dhani Harrison, the son of George Harrison, has channeled his immense talent into a diverse array of projects. Following the death of the elder Harrison on November 29, 2001, Dhani, along with family friend Jeff Lynne of the Electric Light Orchestra, set about putting the finishing touches on George Harrison’s final album, Brainwashed.

Since then, the younger Harrison supervised the reissue campaigns of his father's back catalog and has been a driving force behind several tribute concerts. He even played a significant role in introducing the Beatles’ music to the gaming industry through the Rock Band franchise.

Harrison accomplished all this, and more, while introducing his own music as a member of the band Thenewno2 and the supertrio, Fistful of Mercy, with Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. More recently, Harrison has established himself as a composer, providing the score to several TV series and films, including “Beautiful Creatures."

Now, Dhani Harrison has released his first solo album, although he considers it an extension of his work with Thenewno2. The album, In Parallel, is a complex, electronic rock album that solidifies Harrison's reputation as a creative talent in his own right. Harrison, who first visited WFUV in 2010 as a member of Fistful of Mercy, recently returned to talk about In Parallel and perform several songs from the album.

In Parallel is one of my favorite albums of 2017 and it goes without saying that this Beatles fan was thrilled to hang out with Harrison once again!
