Jesca Hoop at WFUV

Before Jesca Hoop teamed up with Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam for last year’s duets album, the beautiful Love Letter For Fire (and their FUV Live concert at Rockwood Music Hall) she had already released four solo albums and two EPs. Her impressive collaborations have included a stints singing backup vocals for Peter Gabriel on 2011's New Blood Tour.

Hoop found early mentors in the guise of Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, so it’s no wonder that her music is beautiful and intriguing. She has a knack with unusual folk-tinged songs that are soft and edgy. Hoop's new collection was produced by Blake Mills and we welcomed her back to Studio A to share a couple of new songs with us. She also told me a bit about her fifth album,  Memories Are Now.
