Kula Shaker at WFUV

The sounds of the sitar in popular music first made the mainstream via the Beatles in the '60s — a path also followed by bands like Kula Shaker which emerged from the Britpop scene in the mid-'90s. While Blur, Oasis, Pulp, and Elastica filled the airwaves, Kula Shaker brought its own psychedelic dimension to the scene, along with a positive message.

This year, Kula Shaker marks the 20th anniversary of its 1996 debut album K (which went double platinum in the UK) and the release of its fifth album, called K 2.0. We were very excited to welcome the band to Studio A for the first time to play for us and to talk about the new album and anniversary.
