As the daughter of Loudon Wainwright and Kate McGarrigle and the sister of Rufus Wainwright, Martha Wainwright is part of a large musical clan, with a lot to live up to, but she has her own voice as a singer and songwriter.

In her visit to Studio A she talked candidly about her parents, her relationship with her brother, her duality as a mother, and her memories of Leonard Cohen, whose daughter Lorca is a close friend.

She performed a couple of songs from her personal new album, Goodnight City, and we heard her version of Cohen's "Tower of Song."
