50 years ago today Scottish photographer Iain MacMillan captured one of the most iconic images in rock music. The cover of The Beatles' Abbey Road album has been examined, speculated about and recreated ad nauseam. You can see fans at the road crossing celebrating the anniversary today through this webcam. I'll leave it up to you how you want to mark the occasion with your song request on the Question of the Day. We'll cross that road when we get to it after 9am.

Here's what we played:

Elliott Smith "Because"

Ringo Starr "Photograph"

Shriekback "Beatle Zebra Crossing?"

George Harrison "When We Was Fab"

The Beatles "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?"
