McDonald's Employees File Complaints with Feds

Workers allege unsafe workplace conditions, inadequate first aid

A group of McDonald's workers have filed complaints with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration against their employer.

The workers alleged that many of them have been severely burned on the job, and were told to treat their injuries using condiments like mayonnaise or ketchup.

Elizabeth Rene works at a McDonald's on 28 St. in Manhattan, and she demanded the company treat their employees better.

"It's not right, it's not human-like. Everyone should be treated the same, and we all have the same respect," said Rene.

"And it has to come to a stop," Rene added.

An OSHA spokesperson confirmed that the organization has begun an investigation into the allegations. Meanwhile a McDonald's spokesperson said they are "committed to providing safe working conditions for employees."
