Last week, Elbow released the first single drawn from what will be their tenth studio album, Audio Vertigo, due out on March 22 — a song that will kick off tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m. Affable frontman Guy Garvey says that this first taste of the new album is not meant to reflect on, but to distract from the bad things happening in the world.

Squid will begin their North American tour later this week, with a gig at Brooklyn Steel on February 10, and to commemorate that tour, they've released a one-off single that's been a longtime part of their sets, but left off of last year's O Monolith.

On Friday, Galway's NewDad released their debut album, Madra, and I'll get to something from that as well as the lushly dramatic fourth single from English Teacher's forthcoming debut album, This Could Be Texas. (Catch up on the band's UKNY/FUV Live session of last week too.)

Also in the mix, London's gglum, Brighton's Lime Garden, Belfast's Wynona Beach, and a look at the five BRIT Award nominees for British Album of the Year, announced last week.

That's "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
