Cleo Sol released not just one album in September, but two: Heaven and Gold.  With a couple of brief posts on Instagram, ahead of the records' release, Sol dropped her third and fourth solo albums, the followups to 2021's Mother and 2020's Rose in the Dark, a stealth tactic utilized by her other project, the London collective Sault (Sol's partner and fellow Sault cohort, the producer Inflo, also produced Heaven and Gold.)

On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., I'll dip into another track from Heaven (last week I played "Self" from the album) and in the weeks ahead, more from Gold. Also, another new single from the ferocious Hastings-bred trio HotWax from their second EP in a year, invite me, kindly, released October 18. I'll also get to London's Bleach House, who released their debut album, Lost in a Rush of Emptiness last month, and a new single from Peruvian-born, Berlin-based Sofia Kourtesis, pulled from her debut album Madres, released October 27.

Plus Montréal's Le Couleur, Toronto's Kevin Drew, Amsterdam's Pip Blom, and exploring more of Corinne Bailey Rae's exquisite and dynamically different new album, Black Rainbows.

British and international releases on "UKNY," Sundays from 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
