A Swede living in Brooklyn, Kristian Matsson, who is the singer and songwriter The Tallest Man on Earth, has visited our studios a handful of times since 2010 to sing his poetic lyrics in his affecting voice. The occasion for this visit is his fifth LP, I Love You. It's a Fever Dream.

After he recorded and toured with a band for the first time on 2015’s Dark Bird Is Home, Matsson released a series of singles with videos that were written and recorded on the same day and collected on last year’s EP, When the Bird Sees the Solid Ground. Now he’s returned to his favored mode of individual expression: recording himself in a Brooklyn apartment, playing guitars and harmonica, as well as singing. He added piano overdubs on a trip to Sweden, and met his goal of writing and recording the album in a month.

In this session, The Tallest Man on Earth reveals the origin of his moniker, among other tidbits. He also plays electric guitar on two new songs, and acoustic guitar on another, in this intimate, solo performance.
