Andrew McDonald, currently an Undergraduate at Fordham University,  is a reporter for WFUV News. Born in Sacramento, California,  Andrew owes much of his interest in radio journalism to listening to NPR affiliate KXPR 88.9 FM (Go CapRadio News!) growing up.

At Fordham, Andrew is pursuing a double major in History and Political Science, with a focus on U.S. electoral history. Since joining WFUV News's socials team at the start of 2024 and bringing back, designing the format of, and producing the "What's What Weekly" Newsletter every Friday,  he expanded his role to include editing our news coverage on our website, before becoming a full-time Reporter for WFUV News. Every Tuesday, Andrew reports on air for the noon and PM "News in 90 Seconds on FUV" newscasts and subsequently hosts the "What's What" Podcast, where segments of his features and interviews are aired throughout the week. He reports and produces content focusing on New York State, mayoral, and city council news. During the 2025 Democratic Mayoral Primary, Andrew interviewed five mayoral candidates for the station, including New York Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani and New York City Comptroller Brad Lander.

Looking ahead, Andrew hopes to continue focusing on how political power affects people's daily lives in his career far into the future.
