Esme Patterson: 2016

Esmé Patterson's third solo album, We Were Wild, finds the Portland-based singer and songwriter staring down the approach of her thirties and her choice to go it alone after a long association with Denver's baroque-pop band Paper Bird.

Patterson's songs settle into a musically intuitive place and nothing is bogged down by ornamentation or stylistic tics. She knows just what's needed for a song to flow, clean and pure, and her recordings are relatable and memorable.
