George Lewis Jr., the man behind Twin Shadow, has always written songs with a keen perspective on relationships and love. Twin Shadow’s new album Caer, which translates from Spanish to English as “to fall," continues that theme but with a healthy dose of self-reflection in the mix.

In his return to Studio A, I talked with Lewis about the personal nature of these new songs, his philosophy on songwriting, and the significance of the album’s title, which informs much of its feel.

Have a listen to that conversation and watch great live versions of “Brace,” “Sympathy,” and recent FUV favorite, “Saturdays.”
