As of next Thursday, September 22, we step out of summer and into autumn — a season already filled with anxiety regarding all that's going on in this country and throughout the world. On UKNY at 11, an attempt to calm the tempest and turmoil with songs from Fold, Hannah Peel (pictured), Rival Consoles, Palace and Glass Animals (headed to New York on September 28 and 29 at Terminal 5).

And since Aretha Franklin is this week's FUV Essentials, there will be a sneaky way of slipping her into an all-British show and a Commonwealth Cut from an ambitiously dreamy Melbourne, Australia band that's released six albums in six years — The Ocean Party.

Asleep early or out late? You can stream UKNY in the FUV Weekend Archives for two weeks after broadcast.
