If you, like me, has spent part of this rainy weekend indoors, listening to Laufey's lovely second album, Bewitched, you'll definitely enjoy tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m. which includes a solo FUV Live session with the Icelandic musician. We spoke just a few days before the September release of her album — which ended up making history, making the most-streamed debut of any jazz album in Spotify history (although I'd strongly advocate that you buy the album and support the artist).

It was my second FUV Live session with Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir (her twin sister Júnia, who plays violin on the album, also came along), and we chatted about her astonishing year since we last spoke, her galloping career, and her vision for Bewitched, which settled even more firmly into the realm of jazz standards that she admires. She's sold out her entire North American tour (and the UK and Europe too), but if you have a ticket for either of her Town Hall shows in November, consider yourself lucky to see her in such an intimate venue.

Another incredible vocalist, Cleo Sol, dropped her third solo album, Heaven, with not much notice earlier this month. Like her other project, Sault, surprise releases are the norm. But it's no surprise that Heaven, produced by her partner and Sault colleague Info, is an emotionally resonant album, one that flows between relationships, parenthood, faith, and self-scrutiny.

Also in tonight's mix, Flyte featuring Laura Marling, Tommy Lefroy (who play Bowery Ballroom tomorrow night), bar italia, and Black Country, New Road, who exuberantly ended their North American tour on Thursday night, the 21st, at the Knockdown Center, dancing offstage to Earth, Wind & Fire's "September."

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 11p.m-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
