Overnight PATH Service Not Going Away--Yet

by Associated Press

Trevor Logan

Rail travelers who use the Port Authority Trans-Hudson line late at night can take a breather.

Two New Jersey lawmakers say plans to curtail overnight service on PATH trains between New York and northern New Jersey are being put on hold.

Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto say this morning that Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Chairman John Degnan has agreed to table the proposal. Degnan wrote in a letter that any future service cuts would require detailed study and consultation with local officials.
